Researched, refined, artistic or themed: environments designed and created to offer real experiences

Researched, refined, artistic or themed: environments designed and created to offer real experiences

Relaxing alone, with your partner, family or friends is definitely one of the ways to spend your free time. Doing so by immersing yourself in a unique and original atmosphere is even more so.
Enjoying delicacies and sipping drinks while admiring breathtaking views, but also details of the restaurant itself, makes the experience pleasant beyond all expectations. For this reason, places with an unusual appearance and a sophisticated design are becoming more and more successful.
In an increasingly social era, then, even the eye (including the virtual one) wants its part. Beyond what is interesting to share with many people, eating at the table - for example - sitting on a swing, inside a restaurant, is definitely a way to try a bizarre lunch, dinner or meal. Certainly unforgettable.
Whimsical, artistic, sophisticated, and undoubtedly original venues can be characterized by a theme, starting from the furnishing up to the menu and every little detail. You can also choose to make a commercial activity unique by mixing multiple styles, or perhaps opting for vintage tables combined with modern seating and thus continuing to combine shapes, colors and finishes.
There are places that would not even be defined as such, but rather almost as museums, so steeped in an artistic atmosphere capable of arousing fear and at the same time arousing amazement and emotions. Conferring an abstract and dreamlike aspect to an environment is however less simple than one might think, so it is good to measure the choices and avoid falling into excess. Entering a club and feeling immediately estranged from the outside world is the most interesting thing that can happen when you leave your home or office to have a meal or even have a drink.
In the last decade, jungle-themed pubs and restaurants were more popular than they are today. Today’s revisited jungle theme (more refined) is in fact more exploited inside fusion clubs, combined with soft music and soft lighting, as it aims more towards relaxation than fun and "wild" entertainment.
Mixing natural elements (such as wood) with artistic installations and an innovative design is a "safe recipe" for the creation of an environment that wants to go outside the box, without renouncing comfort and a well-balanced aesthetic. Tradition and avant-garde are increasingly exploited to furnish today’s homes; it is therefore not surprising that the same basic principle should also be adopted to furnish sought-after trendy places. Some of the best known lately combine the passion for food with that for fashion. Making an aperitif in a sort of boutique is not unusual.

Whatever theme you choose for your venue, it is good to keep in mind a couple of simple but fundamental rules: if you want to choose to dare, you have to do it to the end, indulging yourself even with every single detail; if you want to create an original but refined environment the keyword is "balance", mixed with whimsy; if you want to opt for a single theme, you must do it in its entirety, without inserting other elements, both furnishing and with regard to the menu or beverages, which are precisely off topic. The rest will then come by itself based on economic availability, spaces, views and views, natural light and of course personal taste.

The ideal locations to admire unique and unexpected details related to the world of design

The ideal locations to admire unique and unexpected details related to the world of design

Traveling is undoubtedly one of the best ways to enrich one’s life with unforgettable experiences and memories and to fill mind and eyes with incredible views. The world is full of breathtaking natural landscapes, and we often forget to stop and contemplate the urban ones.
From Europe to Asia, from America to Africa, you can find real pearls or immerse yourself in the beauties of the most famous places. Our beautiful country, cradle of the Renaissance, is rich in history and cities that seem immune to the passage of time and have managed to create a marvelous combination of antiquity and modernity. Rome, Florence and Venice are just some of the most famous cities able to fully re-enter in this light.
But focusing on the most current and avant-garde in Italy today, one cannot fail to mention the fashion capital: Milan. The Lombard capital is full of modern installations and futuristic areas, just think for example of Piazza Gae Aulenti or the famous Bosco Verticale, a contemporary project and friend of the environment.
Turin, for its part, rightfully enters the list of design cities: in the Piedmontese capital, known for being one of the most avant-garde from an industrial point of view, the Design Circle is indeed present, that is a meeting point and exchange of experiences for designers, designers, companies, training institutions and institutions, interested in networking for the development of territorial design.
Going "further up", and remaining in Europe, it is necessary to mention places like Vienna and Prague, made fascinating by the predominant presence of twentieth-century art and by the possibility of taking long walks admiring historical buildings and incredibly modern and abstract areas. In fact, it is impossible not to think of the Prague "Dancing House", or the headquarters of the Dutch National Offices or the Viennese Hundertwasserhaus. The not distant Budapest, a jewel of Hungary, is another incredible futuristic discovery that can be contemplated between the Old and New cities.
Changing completely "geolocation", if you are looking for incredible skylines, able to give the best at sunset without disappointing in daylight hours, then it is good to move to China. Shenzhen and Shanghai cannot ignore the expectations of those who are looking for urban landscapes dominated by tall buildings, characterized by different shapes and volumes as well as beautifully illuminated and, in turn, sources of light and incomparable reflections.
Other locations in which to find "last generation" neighborhoods, profiles drawn against the background of the sky from natural elements, mixed with those mainly artificial, and rooftop able to leave you speechless, are undoubtedly Hong Kong, Bangkok, New York, Miami and none other than London.
You can easily alternate design shops with super modern installations, present both in contemporary art galleries and in points of aggregation of the cities themselves, even moving to Scandinavian countries. Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo are ideal for those in search of places where nature, technology and environmental protection meet.
The typically linear aspect of the Nordic cities is perfectly integrated with the philosophies (of life and related to the building) that make them always more functional and creative, while preserving and preserving their own tradition. The Danish capital has also been ahead of its time being, since 1960, the home of the first design hotel in the world (Radisson Blu Royal Hotel) while the Swedish is synonymous with furniture excellence. Practical and aesthetically sought after. It is not less, nor for essentiality, originality, inventiveness or elegance, even Helsinki.

Although the list could be, understandably, long to the incredible, in the context of the "unexpected" cities of design is the last of our "list", that is Cape Town. In South Africa futuristic and above all eco-sustainable buildings are in fact emerging more frequently. Right here, over the last few decades, the homes of the future are conceived, designed and built; similar to those we mentioned in previous appointments with our blog.

That is to say comfortable, modern, creative, environmentally conscious as well as design queens.

Installations that represent so many places around the world are increasingly popular among tourists and residents and often also launch noble messages

Installations that represent so many places around the world are increasingly popular among tourists and residents and often also launch noble messages

The iconic signs representing the name of the city in which they are located are increasingly common. From the most famous ones, such as the gigantic Hollywood sign or the "historic" Amsterdam sign, to the more recent and homegrown ones, such as that of Ostia, these three-dimensional writings characterize the places in which they are located, making them more fascinating for both tourists and for residents.
From the largest to the smallest, from the most colorful to the most enlightened, the installations can be multiple, in the same city, being positioned both in the central areas and in the more peripheral ones, thus representing an interesting method to encourage travelers to also go to less known areas of the visited location, often underestimated.

Ideal for joyful and characteristic souvenir photos, to be repeated over the years or visiting, the City Signs are so popular precisely because they are a special touch for every city. There are monumental ones, so imposing as to overlook entire neighborhoods. There are some "minimal", perhaps combined with intro such as "I love ...", "greetings from ..." and from the current point of view even "#" (or a Hashtag, brilliantly thought of in terms of tourism marketing to facilitate social sharing of the shots taken with the writing), in order to make them more personalized and similar to the location in which they are located.

Substantially then they are part of the wonderful concept of public art. People, more often than not, can literally enter into the writing in question, emerging from a vowel or a consonant, thus making themselves immortalized within a work of contemporary art and accessible to everyone.
Designed for adults and children, the City signs also symbolize a sense of belonging for both locals and tourists: the former because they are linked to a point of reference and the latter have the opportunity, even if only temporary, to enter some way to be part of the visited city becoming an integral part of it.
Shooting one’s own country and the world even in search of City Signs is an attractive expedient for collecting fun and peculiar souvenir photos, ranging from bizarre signs to more conventional ones. Whether they are bright, made with recycled or natural materials (such as hedges or wood), placed in panoramic points of the city or next to monuments and historic buildings, which are reflected on expanses of water or are suspended above, each City Signs will have the own particularity to make it unique.

In many cases, installations that indicate a city name for some special occasion or occasion had to be exhibited only temporarily. However the success they received meant that they remained permanently, as in the case of the 3D Toronto sign, or a large three-dimensional luminous sign, located in Canada, originally conceived for the turn that saw the city as host of the Pan American Games in 2015.
Amsterdam was one of the first cities to impress with this concept when it placed, in 2005, the famous "I amsterdam" in front of its most celebrated museum. Later another one was installed at the airport while a third mobile version was used for major events.
However after 14 years, in December 2018 the famous writing was removed but, between the end of June and the beginning of July 2019, it returned for a noble purpose. Greenpeace has in fact transformed "I amsterdam" into "I amazonia" to send a message in favor of safeguarding the Amazon, with a very strong result. This is proof of the fact that the City Signs really manage to have a significant impact on citizens and visitors. And on the city itself.

In the almost immediate future of Mylab3d and of those that are our multiple projects, there is also a nice novelty related to none other than the world of installations depicting the name of a location. Specifically, the one that hosts us and represents us.
