A timeless interior design that is elegant and revisable
Among the multiple styles of furniture that can be chosen to furnish an environment, the Venetian one is one of the most sought after and refined. The details are the key to this trend which is anything but recent yet able to withstand time and modernity: revisiting it is possible without distorting it or obscuring it by putting it in the background.
Despite the strong "historical" component, indeed, it fits well even in the most contemporary contexts, conforming without difficulty with the currently most popular trends. The Venetian style, classic and modern if necessary, has its origins in Renaissance Venice, making itself immediately recognizable thanks to some well-defined characteristics: exaltation of beauty, triumph of luxury and pomp and comfort.
In the beginning it was the predominant style of villas and residences belonging to the highest class of society. Nowadays it is easily combined with more modern elements creating a winning contrast. The noble and regal aspect can indeed be very well balanced with simpler and more contemporary design elements, both inside homes and other places, such as clubs and shops.
Decorating in Venetian style today means choosing to dare with bold colors like gold, purple, burgundy, green and sometimes blue, to combine with a base cream. Attention to detail, a must in abundant measure, must be meticulous even if not redundant or cloying. You can opt for both furniture - predominantly in wood - really valuable and "dated" and for other "revisited" and more current, always conforming to this trend.
Chairs and armchairs (footstool and bedside rugs) are preferably large, comfortable and elegant as if to recall the thrones of the nobles of the past. The soft padding can also be old style or modern, demonstrating how the Venetian style manages to marry very well with those with a more modern flavor.
Then there are important chandeliers, coordinated with chandeliers, resting on low tables and small tables or placed on the beautiful dressers and sideboards (depending on the room or the environment you want to furnish). To increase the lighting and / or make it softer, we also need pretty lampshades, whose additional function is to be design elements, whose style can marry the Venetian one or, on the contrary, contrast it, according to one’s personal tastes .
Large mirrors are the extra touch to give more space to rooms that, otherwise, run the risk of seeming small due to the richness of the details and the pomp, to which the insertion of fabrics and curtains with refined and remarkable textures contributes. As far as the sleeping area is concerned, the four-poster bed is again an excellent element to insert and combine with flashy sheets and pillows without being kitschy.
Expedients to make the Venetian style more modern are frames (preferable to paintings in case you want to rejuvenate the environment), plants (fat or even fake-like jungle), fairy lights and, of course, latest-generation appliances and technological elements. The important thing is therefore to remember to abound with details, to recreate a sumptuous (without exceeding), comfortable and welcoming environment and combine it at will to make it more or less revisited and modern.
